Named after the short-necked lute traditionally played across the Middle East, Oud, held in November, uses music to reach beyond religious and political divisions to showcase the rich ethnic and social traditions that inspire music, poetry, and literature in Jerusalem today. Concerts feature modern and traditional music with Bedouin, Flamenco, and Sufi influences.
The Israel Oud Festival was founded in 2000 in Jerusalem, by producer and musical director Eli Grunfeld. In 2003 Grunfeld initiated an extension of the festival in Tel Aviv, at the ‘Tzavta’ theatre. The Tel Aviv Oud Festival takes place every year in August. Wikipedia
