Though a little out of the way, this palace is a highlight on the Italian Renaissance trail. Built for the enlightened Duke Federico da Montefeltro, it displays the full power and splendor of 15th-century Italy. Its 250 rooms include a vast library.
Today it houses the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche, which has one of Italy’s greatest collections of Renaissance art.

The Ducal Palace is a Renaissance building in the Italian city of Urbino in the Marche. One of the most important monuments in Italy, it is listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998. Wikipedia
