Resembling a huge seashell, the non-denominational Sea Ranch Chapel, dating from 1984, is a quirky place. Appealing but slightly kitsch, it has a swooping cedar roof crowned with a wavy spire resembling a peacock’s plumage, lots of native redwood, and delicate stained-glass inserts in the roof, doors, and windows to filter the light.
